Free event QR code generator
Event QRs let invitees add your event to their calendar with one scan. No "click this link, then click Add to Calendar, then choose Google or Outlook" — just scan, confirm, done. Used for conferences, meetups, classes, weddings, kids' birthday parties.
The encoder produces a VEVENT in iCalendar format embedded into the QR. iOS and Android calendar apps recognise the format natively; Outlook on desktop reads it from the iOS/Android share. Title, start, end, location, and description all carry through.
Set a timezone (defaults to your browser's) so the event lands at the right local time for travelling attendees. Without a timezone, "9am" lives in the QR as "9am whoever's reading it" — which trips up anyone in a different zone.
- iCal VEVENT format — works on iOS, Android, Outlook, Google Calendar.
- Title, start, end, location, description, timezone.
- No link required — the event is encoded directly in the QR.
- Live preview of how the calendar entry will look.
Event QR — frequently asked questions
Does this work for recurring events?
Not in v1 — single-occurrence events only. For recurring weeklies/monthlies, link to a calendar feed (.ics URL) using the URL content type instead. What timezone does the event use?
Whichever you set in the timezone dropdown. If unset, it uses your browser's timezone, but we strongly recommend setting it explicitly — attendees in different zones see the wrong time otherwise. Can I add multiple invitees or attendees?
Not in the QR itself — VEVENT supports an ATTENDEE list, but most phone calendar apps ignore it on import. Send invites via your normal calendar tool; use the QR for the public "save the date".Does the QR include a Zoom or video link?
Yes — paste the meeting URL into the location or description field. Most calendar apps render URLs as clickable. Why doesn't my Android phone recognise the event?
Some older Android camera apps don't parse iCal VEVENTs. The Google QR & Barcode Scanner app handles it, as does any modern dedicated QR reader. Can I send updates to attendees who already added it?
Static QRs are immutable — a new time means a new QR. For an updateable event, host the .ics file and use a URL QR; replace the .ics file when the event changes.
